STORY

Born and raised on Lopez Island, WA, Kurtis Dengler has been playing music from a young age. As a teenager, Kurtis played around the Northwest in the original band Electric Shades of Blue, and at 17 years old was offered to play guitar with singer Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company, Queen...), touring Europe and North America, playing venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall and New York's B.B. King's.

After playing in the Paul Rodgers Band for several years, Kurtis branched out to explore his own music, playing in the original band Stella, along with Jon Bolton, Pete Ortega and later Robbie Christmas. He was soon performing all over with diverse bands such as the Herding Cats, The Robbie Christmas Band and Apple Jam, as well as with Stella. With Apple Jam, Kurtis played not only around the Pacific Northwest but at various international Beatles festivals in Liverpool, England and Tampere, Finland.

After some time away, Kurtis is now back in Seattle and playing again. Performing around town both as a solo acoustic act, as well as with others such as the Decibels and Robbie Christmas, Kurtis is now in the middle of recording his first solo album of all original material, to be released tentatively by the end of this year.
